Frosting
The most common of all techniques: Frosting is usually seen on glassware, mirrors, windows, doors, etc. This technique is a gentle blast where just the surface of the glass has been altered by the etching process. This leaves the glass with areas that are shaded which provides privacy and also allows light to pass through.
Shading
This technique is more complex than frost and creates shadows to help facilitate the illusion of depth. The process leaves opacity in the glass that ranges from 17% - 100%. (Where 100% is a frost)
Carving
This technique involves sandblasting a 3-dimensional carving into the glass or media that creates real depth and dimension. Color can be added to a carved piece to accent the design.
